Had a miracle yesterday. It started with a silly mosquito bite on my right forearm on Saturday. Happened in Fry's parking lot. It started to swell but was not bad until Sunday morning. In church I started to notice the joints in my fingers hurting and my forearm was aching. My right shoulder was hurting bad. I had my husband vibrate my shoulder because it was so tight. Took a zyrtec and advil. Then I decided that I needed a priesthood blessing. My hometeacher was out of town so I called the church. Bishop came down with another brother and gave me a blessing. Within minutes the aching stopped and I was able to do my job on the call system. Good thing as it was busy.
The blessing itself was interesing and made me cry. Bishop said that Heavenly Father was aware that because we are a small ward and I am always available members take me for granted and work me more than they should but that He never takes me for granted. He promised that when I reach heaven I will be greatly rewarded.
After the blessing Bishop explained to his companion about my mission. I told him my time was going to be up the first part of December and I wanted to reapply but I needed his and the stake president's permission. He said it was fine by him.

About Me
- Mom
- Mayer, Arizona
- My name is Suzanne Osborne Halliday. I am a mother of five sons: Michael, Edward, Stephen, Bruce and Daniel. I have a beloved step daughter: Lisa. I am the grandmother of seven grandsons: Anthony, Joshua, Aaron, Tyler, Mattie, Sydney, Zachary, and three grand daughters: Bella, Gali and Alycia. I was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1942 to Harvey Osborne and Joyce White. When I was nine years old my parents moved to Peridot, Arizona, a village on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation where my father had bought a trading post. It was not long after this that I was first introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A family down the road invited me to attend Primary. It was held in the back of the Weech's Trading Post in San Carlos. This was where I learned that I because of Jesus Christ I could return to live with my Heavenly Father again one day. Three years later my heart was touched by a Joseph Smith pamphlet I found in my brother Stevie's lunch pail. I joined the church 13 May 1961 when I was 19 years old. This decision has greatly changed my life.
The mosquito bite thing sounded scary. Do you usually have that kind of reaction? I know that mosquitos carry West Nile Virus and that it can and will affect the joints and is very painful. (You might want to get a blood test next time you go to the doctors to confirm that you don't have it, for your own knowledge, because if you do you need to take it easy if it ever flares up again).
ReplyDeleteYou are a lot kinder than I am. If I felt like I was being taken for granted I would get very angry and annoyed about it. You always have a very sunny disposition when you write on here (sometimes I forget that you must be tired and overworked with all that you do and all that you give).
Much Love and Hugs to you.
