Poems

Follow The Master

Sometimes our visibility is poor,
But the Master stands at the door.
If we but follow the Master's lead,
We will find those in need.

If we follow the Master,
He will calm each disaster,
But if we follow the world,
With each wind we'll be hurled.

If you put your feet upon His path,
He will save you from all wrath.
Serve others as He serves you.
Follow the Master in all you do.

The Master will take you in His arm
And keep your soul from harm.
Day by day, hour by hour,
The Master will bless you with power.

He Will See You Through

If you but stop to ask,
God will help with the task.
He will see you through
All that you need to do.

He will help you to teach
And to each soul reach.
He will help you to lead
And to plant many a seed.

He will help you to find
Love and peace of mind.
Consecrate to Him all you do
And He will see you through.

His Arms Around Me

Today while just sitting in a weekly indexing call, I felt Jesus arms around me. It was like a hug.

Jesus put his arms around me
And gave me a gentle hug.
From worry He set me free
And made me feel warm and snug.

Often for a purpose I cannot see
Father blesses me wih His grace
That a better servant I might be,
And opens my eyes to see His Place.

I cannot imagine dealing with life
Without Father's many gifts of love.
In moments of the greatest strife
He often sends help from above.

I am but a stranger

A Promised Land

I am a stranger on this earth,
Searching for a higher birth.
My soul glimpses heaven above
And I feel my Father's love.

I long to return to His place
And behold my Savior's face,
To walk in my Father's world,
And to see His glory unfurled.

I am seeking His eternal story
And not the world and its glory.
I can daily find a place apart
Where He can talk to my heart.

As to His voice alone I listen,
With great joy my eyes glisten
And I feel the touch of His love
Lifting me closer to heaven above.

His promises see me through
For I know them to be true.
I write His word upon my heart
And know His love will not depart.

Day by day as I follow His way
And listen close when I pray.
My Savior will take me by the hand
And lead me to the promised land.

See God's handprint

God's Handprint

See God's handprint in your life
Despite all troubles and strife.
See His handprint left everywhere,
Declaring to you His loving care.

Look for it, in the morning light
Or in the darkest night.
His handprint is in the skies
When technical problems arise.

In His house His presence is near
And His handprint is clear.
Feel His handprint on your soul.
Let HIm lift and make you whole.

Watch for His handprint everyday,
A sign to point you to His way.
If your sight one day departs,
Feel His handprint upon your heart.

Love the brothehood.

Christ's Brotherhood

Oh to set beneath a tree
Comtemplating the life of a bee.
He works hard everyday,
Harvesting pollen without delay.

To him his purpose is clear
Never varying from year to year.
He works for the common good
Of the bees' great brotherhood.

Do we work for the common good
Of Christ's great brotherhood.
Are we working hard everyday
To find souls who've lost their way?

Do we have a purpose clear
To help save all we hold so dear?
Do we work for the living and dead
To bring them to the Everlasting Head?

Are we doing all we can each day,
To roll Christ's work along its way?
May our purpose be ever clear
Never varying from year to year.

This is the day the Lord has made.

Rejoice in the Day

God does not cause trials to be
For evil too in this world is free,
But He is there to see us through
And aide us in all we must do
If we will turn our hearts in prayer
And ask for his presence there.

His sun shines on good and bad;
So let us rejoice and be glad;
For this is the day He hath made.
His wonders He has displayed.
So let us arise and give Him glory
And praise Him in song and story.

Each day we must make the choice
Whether or not to lift our voice
And rejoice in the day He has made
Or in anger, pain and sorrow wade.
If we choose to seek His face,
He will in turn bless us with His grace.

Our Flag

May the Flag that flies over us today
On this free land continue to wave.
May all be free to worship and pray.
May it always be the land of the brave.

May all who live here thankful be
For this wonderful land of choice.
May we work daily to keep it free
And for its blessings always rejoice.

May we cherish freedom everyday
And remember all of our brave
Who died to keep it this way.
May our Flag continue to wave.

May we continue to revere
All forefathers fought to save.
May freedoms we hold dear
And ever let our Flag freely wave.

Good Shepherd

He is the great I am;
I am His precious lamb.
He daily offers His arm
To protect me from harm.

My body may fall apart;
But His love will not depart.
He will extend His hand
That I might with Him stand.

He beckons me to follow
That I might not be hollow,
But might be full of light
And able to withstand the night.

He leads me through sorrow
And gives promise for tomorrow.
He fills me daily with love
And points me to heaven above.

Poem

Love Bubbles

Instead of wallowing in pain or despair
Blow bubbles of your love in the air.
You will soon see that your bubbles
Can soothe someone else's troubles.

Everyday we have that same choice,
Do we wallow or do we rejoice?
Do we sink into the pain or despair
Or do we blow bubbles into the air?

Ask humbly for the gift of grace
To be able to wear a happy face.
God will help you blow love bubbles
To ease someone's else's troubles.

May we all stand the test of time
In any place and in any clime.
Because we know God's loving care,
May we blow love bubbles in the air.

Poem

Immovable in Faith

The decision you make today
Will determine tomorrow's way.
Great blessings will come for you
If you commit to God in all you do.
If you listen to the Still small voice,
Whispering to you the right choice,
Then on you His power will rest
And little by little your life will be blest.

Day by day you will grow stronger
As with your Savior you linger longer.
The more you want to be His friend,
The more you feel the love He sends.
The more you want to return to God,
The you want His path to always trod.
The more you seek to see His face,
The more you are filled with His grace.

You become the total of all you do,
And all you believe through and through.
Your life can be full of grace and power,
If you choose His way hour by hour.
He will make of you something great,
And His love to all you will radiate,
If you will but follow Him each day,
In every big and little way.

Poem

Book of First Nephi

Today the Spirit walked with me
And opened my eyes to see
All of the wonders in God's Word,
All of His stories I have heard.

The Book of 1 Nephi opens to me.
Lehi and his family I clearly see.
I see a Prophet of God call men to repent,
But the people rejected the man God sent.
1 Nephi 1

As I read Lehi's visions of old,
I saw a Prophet with courage bold.
I saw him leave his wealth behind,
A promised land to seek and find.
1 Nephi 2-7

As I read on and on in the Book,
Like Nephi I too take a look
And I behold the iron rod;
I too see the Son of God.
1 Nephi 11

I see the Liahona on the ground
That their way may be found.
I see Nephi break his bow,
And humbly ask which way to go.
1 Nephi 16
